Forty projects have been submitted

Regarding the first call for proposal, a total of forty projects have been submitted in the four countries involved by the first deadline of June 14, 2011.

13 proposals for Egypt and Palestine, 12 for Tunisia and 2 for Jordan are in the course of assessment by the respective evaluation committees of the Euromed Units concerned.

Other five deadlines are scheduled for Egypt, Palestine and Jordan with the second expiry date on 1st November, 2011 and three for Israel which has just launched the first call for proposals of this IV Phase of Euromed Program easy downloading on http://www.israel.euromedyouth.net/.

Grants awarded under Euromed Youth are intended to upkeep the implementation of the actions 2011/2013 of the non-governmental organizations interested to support and consolidate the participation and contribution of youth organizations and youth between all countries of the European Union and the southern shore of the Mediterranean towards the development of civil society and democracy.

Recent events, commonly referred as Arab Spring, reveal the decisive nature of issues related to the place of youth, and their active participation in the democratization of society. This context calls on all actors of civil society to re-examine their policies and arrangements Euro-Mediterranean cooperation, taking into account this new situation.
