On the 14th of April 2015, the EuroMed Youth Unit in Tunisia achieved the Evaluation Committee of the applications submitted under the first call for proposals (deadline 16th of February 2015) chaired by Mr. Mounir KHECHAREM, General Director of Youth and in the presence of Mr Bernard Abrignani, Team Leader of EuroMed.
Out of the 36 applications received, 27 conformed to the different eligibility and admission criteria, were selected and evaluated.
Out of the 27 selected proposals:
- 18 projects will be funded
- 8 on the waiting list (because it exceeds the envelope for granting subventions)
- 1 rejected.
The 18 proposed applications are spread over the following governorates (Ariana, Tunis, Sousse, Sfax, Medenine, Bizerte, Zaghouan, Nabeul).
According to the Key Actions, the projects are divided as follow:
- 5 applications in Action 1 (Euro-Med Youth Exchanges)
- 5 applications in Action 2 (Euro-Med Youth Voluntary Service)
- 8 applications in Action 3 (Euro-Med Youth Training and Networking)
The committee noted the high quality of projects and sees the result of the actions of the EMYU. It suggested that a meeting with officials of non-selected projects; especially to avoid discouragement while projects, with a larger envelope could have been retained; therefore it is not the quality that is put in. It is only needed to be improved.
The recommendations for the next call for proposals revolve around two points: ensuring, in case of choosing between two projects, one to focus on one of the national priority issues and / or Action 2 (EVS).
